Haven’t specifically seen it done. The 08 lower needs 08 upper triple. Did you compare the length of the stems at all?
the stock stem HAS to be correct length because it’s set for the head stock of the bike.

Yeah, I got the complete front end from an 08. The stem is longer on the Zx10R than the 650 so I determined I need to keep it since the lower triple is thicker. Definitely my mistake, but no real issue since I already pressed them out once.

Just as a random update to what I'm doing. Have a 2013 650 that I'm doing a swap. I'm going with a full 2008 front end from on 08 Zx10r, so new forks, wheel, brake rotors and all. I also am grabbing some 2012 Zx14R calipers. I guess I might as well get a radial MC to go with this. The final thing I'm deciding on is what to do for handle bars. Not really sure I want Clips ons, might go with the Moto CNC triple clamp conversion kit. Clip ons are great but I like being a bit more upright since I do commuting and long cruises.

Anyone have thoughts on if we should go with larger brake rotors? I have the rotors from a 2008 Zx10R which are a bit larger that the stock 650. I'm using the Zx14R calipers. I would need a much larger spacer to run them. Any good reason to go with the larger rotor on a lighter bike? I feel that with the radial cylinder, better Nissins, larger rotors might be a bit of overkill...

Hello--
I joined this forum because I found this thread.
I have an H2 750 (2-stroke triple) with a ZX6 front end (probably 2004?) and I want normal bars (one-piece bar above the triples), not clip-ons.
Just bought a Z1000 top triple because I thought I read on this thread that it would bolt on.
Hmmmm....not so much. the fork spacing is fine, but the steering stem hole is too big, and more importantly, does not center.
Maybe it works with a 650 lower, or something...?
Do I need to buy a Z1000 lower, or just buy a one-off upper from the eBay guy in Poland for $271?
Anybody want to buy a Z1000 upper?
Thanks in advance, Rich in TX
