No, those calipers wont work on the ZX-6R forks....... they're not radial mount...

Fork tubes are too big if I remember correct.

Bump Bump
Hey guys, great forum. I'm new here, came over from KawiForums. I have an oddball Q about stock header swaps. I have an '08 Z1000 and want to go 4-1 with the exhaust. Will a Zx9r or any gen Z750 header bolt up right to the Second Gen cylinder head I have? I don't have anything to compare side by side, But there are nice clean Z750 (1st gen, nothing to gut out) headpipes on ebay all the time for cheap.

Secondly, don't bother with the ZX9 header-it will NOT work with the block on the GenIII (what you have) Z1000's. Though the displacement is the same at 953cc's, the configuration is different.

In the post above I'm confused when he says the Gen 3 has the same displacement. 1st and 2nd do, but 3rd is larger. Don't know if he's talking about the new Z or my ('07-'09) 2nd gen. Someone please clarify for me because I REALY don't want to spend a $grand on a new full Akra or Muzzy system.
Thank you.

it was on pg 5 of this thread. It was actually a quote from another forum, that someone quoted on here, and I quoted from that.:2far: Sorry, haven't gotten the hang of "including a quote" yet the correct way. Yeah so as I said I'm trying to find out if 1st and 2nd gen head pipes are interchangeable, and also 1000/750 pipes. From pictures I can see the casting differences between the sides of these heads, but no idea about the actual exhaust ports (spacing, size, bolt holes). Over at www.indysuperbikes.com they list two different Muzzy full exhausts for the Z1000, and say they fit '03-08 models. Akra breaks em up into 03-06 and 07-09, like I'm used to seeing. I sent e-mails to both Indy and Muzzy and hopefully will hear back tomorrow. Muzzy's site, by the way, doesn't currently have said exhaust listed (full stainless w/aluminum round muffler - with mounting tab welded on). Maybe it's been discontinued? They just show one for 07-09 (titanium??) and for the new '10 model. I'll find out more this week, just wanted to see if you guys know anything.:ithank:

Maybe he was counting the original Z1000 from 1972 as gen 1. I was a bit confused when I came onto this forum at first to learn that my bike was being referred as a Gen 1, when technically Gen 1 was 30 years before it.
