mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............

If the Factory rotor for the ZR7 also fits the ZX6r 98-98, then most probably the Muzzy ADJUSTABLE rotor for the ZX6R 98-99 also fits the ZR7.
Costs about $20 more but at least it's adjustable.
Any thoughts on this?

Stock ignition timing is 12.5 degrees BTDC @ 1100 rpm to 37.5 degrees BTDC @ 9000.
Fitting the FACTORY rotor will add a fixed 4 degrees to those figures.
The Muzzy part will let you add (I reckon) anything from 0 to 6 degrees to those figures.
You fine tune the ignition for the type (octane) of petrol (gas) you're using.
Best done on a dyno, otherwise you'd run the risk of preignition or detonation (read serious engine damage) if too much advance is used.

I dunno if it's the actual pic of the ZX6r rotor.
There are about 17 different rotors listed there so I guess the chance of it being a ZX6r rotor pic is 17 to 1............:)

The $50,000 dollar question is will the Muzzy ZX6r (98-99) rotor fit the ZR7, given that the Factory equivalent apparently does.

Thanks for those pic, Jimmy. That is wild ! Being able to up the advance to what ever !

I wonder if really high octane gas would work with a higher advace, like 6, and I wonder if more power could be wrung out ?

The first hurdle is to see if the Muzzy ZX6r (98-99) rotor fits the ZR7.
The second hurdle is to see if it does indeed up the power (bang for the buck!) and thirdly (for me at least) is to try and convince Muzzy to post me one (outside the US).........:(

ktric and factory pro

Hi, i`ve just fitted the factory pro +4, and now i`m getting detonation..can you advise me of which way to rotate the ktric to slightly retard the timing as the crap fuel they sell here (thailand again) only goes to 95 octane and i dont want engine damage, should the ktric voltages be lower to retard or higher to retard the timing slightly..oh and she seems to be running hotter....i know that someone may suggest removing the factory pro,, but i just got the dam thing thru today after a 2 week wait.....oh and i`m still getting top end stutter that kicks in at 8100revs, it just wont red line in any gear. I`ve checked and remade all the ht connections, 2.5 turns out, and no sparks to earth that i can see, new plugs and tried it on prime but still stutters.....it must be a nice feeling to see it go all the way thru the rev band but it just wont, 8100revs every time..driving me mad..oh and the battery terminals are tight...regards again crew
