i would never drive a motorcycle that fast. what would happen if a tire had a blow out ? you could kill yourself !!!!
#1 You could kill yourself just getting your bike out the driveway, or fix that leaking tile on the roof, or crossing the street!!(I bet you are SCARED NOW!!:bat: )
#2 Well, look at Chris Mundrell, he did only about 35mph when his bike's @$$ came round on him... Did you see how much damage there is on his old bike?
#3 If a tyre blows out on 75mph, it could kill you too!!

And dont worry, your time will come when you just cant resist that urge (on an empty road, out on an innocent Sunday ride) that you just cant help but wonder what that little beast REALLY CAN do!!!:FIREdevil

And no, the Pumpkin have never seen more than 90mph<cough>:slap:

well let's see here now.....

On the old ZR I've seen 143 (downhill and past 10,000 rpms)

On the new 636 I've seen 160 and that's about all it will do with my fat butt on her.

So far I've hit 125mph...but that's on my Mean Streak. The speedo goes to 140, and I'm certain the bike will hit it...but without a windscreen and enough open freeway it's probably not gonna happen (I ride sans helmet so...things get blurry at that speed!).

:glassesti

I was doing 60 mph when I had my crash and look at all that happend to me, now if I had crashed at the (speedo'd 160) I might have done better. :dunno:

I've done 125 on my Delilah. I sort of felt like Scott at first, 80 or 90 felt pretty damn fast on a bike. But she just kept asking to go faster and was always solid, so my top speed got a little higher every time I rode for a few weeks. 150 seems a little scary still, but I can understand getting up there. What can you do, bikes just want to haul ***!

Update to mine - hit 145 indicated today and it was still pulling. Followed two minutes later w/143 but came up on a hill (always slow down to see what's on the other side!).

BTW, 83F and 50% humidity...

+1 on the 145mph thing. Even when tucked, my helmet started rattling so damn bad it was messing with my vision. And I thought I had a great fitting piece. Does anyone else have this problem with their helmet at those speeds?:dunno:

I didn't have any helmet problem, but I was tucked in behind my +15cm Ermax.

Wife decided to ride two up on my bike with me yesterday. She loves speed and she's always bugging me to go faster. Her bike tops out at 160km/h. So I was being squidly and gave in. 240km/h (about 150mph) and the bike felt stable. Mind you it was kinda hard to hold on. I didn't have the helmet shake but I my wife did. Bike wasn't redlining and it was still pulling. But 240 two up was enough for me.
:slap:

Wow, she does like speed. My friend and his wife passed me on their Busa yesterday doing 125mph. I knew he wouldn't go too fast with her on there so I gunned by him and looked down to notice I was doing 146mph. She still had pull left.:headbang:

While out today with my buddies on their crotch rockets, I saw an indicated 153mph. Even with my extended screen, I felt like someone was pulling my helmet backwards and trying to rip me off the bike!

We did a nice long ride with a lot of straights and every time the road opened up, someone would try someone else and everyone would be pulled along in tow... ;)

It took me a long time to work my way up to 153. I went 130 then slowed down a few times to get the feel of the bike. Then 140 and slowed down. Finally, got it up to 153 when I realized that although it felt different then it does at 80 - 90, it wasn't unstable.:headbang:

Of course, I rarely get over 80 mph on a regular basis which is about as fast as traffic moves in this area.

PS
Seems like it has more in it as it was still pulling but seemed like it was going to run out of gear. I was at about 10k and change.
