ICON and Arai Sizing Question

Okay, so this new rider needs to purchase his first helmet. I was leaning towards a certain Icon model until I stumbled upon the Arai RX-Q DNA Helmet. Its awesome. However, I have not tried on any Arai helmets. So I'm hoping someone here has experience with both brands and can answer me this:

Does a large in ICON equate to a large in Arai? Or are their sizing charts very different in fit?

I would simply go to the store and try one on but a store on eBay has the Arai helmet on clearance for 9 more hours and its $100 cheaper.

Hoping someone can answer my question! Thanks in advance!

Just went ahead and pulled the trigger based on their respective sizing charts. Hope it fits.

I have a vector 2 that I now don't trust, been dropped to many times. I now use an Icon alliance, and I wear the same size in both. The one thing I did notice though is the cheek pads seem tighter than the Arai when I first started wearing it. I wear a size small. I would highly recommend trying both on and seeing which one is more comfortable.

You're the third person whose told me the Icon will fit tighter in the cheeks. Having tried a few on, I can def vouch for that. If the Arai has slightly less pressure in that area, I'd call it a good thing.
