Looks good man, but the problem I see with it is that I don't touch trhe ground that good now so if the seat is thicker I would be even worse off. I notice you got the brake res sock LOL!

trky1515, Yes i'm having a little problem keeping it latched too, but it is really hard to pull it back to unlatch it. I think the brackets need bent a little bit. It wont come undone while i'm sitting on it.

CrystalZ1K, Yes, i got 3 different socks for the brake, thanks. Got the punisher skull, under armor and an anarchist star.

Just got my front and back seats. The front seat i had to take the brackets from my old seat off and place them on the new seat. It works great now it latched down. Back seat different story. The seat will not latch down I tried to sit on it i tried pounding on it still no luck. Its not hooking down I'm pretty p.o. I guess i got to call Corbin and send it back to be fixed.

Take the washer off the factory passenger seat and put it on the corbin and it will work. Had same problem. The problem is that the metal hook isnt long enough. That will fix it. I sent my riders seat back to corbin this week and they are going to use a z1000 from a local shop and fix the problem with it sliding out. I think the problem is with the mold of the seat. The factory seat has the two plastic parts that go into the seat frame and the corbin doesnt have that. Thats why I think it is sliding out.

Me too

I only got the front seat. Had the same problem with getting the brackets just right. It is a tight fit and will be tough to get back off when I need to get to the airbox or battery. The comfort is a HUGE improvement over stock! I've ridde a couple of 2-3 hour trips in the last couple of weeks and my A** really loves this new seat. :agree:

I'm starting to get use to the stick seat and it's not bothering me near as bad as it did. I want it to be black, but that's an easy fix. Sucks that the Corbin is not fitting right-hope they get it sorted out for you guys.

Here's a pic of my bike with the corbin. I too am having the same latching problems as the rest. I e-mailed corbin and am waiting their response. I opted for the glossy carbon fiber pattern rather than the matte version they have. I went for a 4 hour ride yesterday and it was a great improvement over the stocker. My butt didn't hurt. I only had to stand up on the bike once or twice just to stretch the legs out a bit.

I have a front seat and I'm also having problems with it staying latched. The other bad news are that I burned my upper thighs in a stop and go traffic. I guess the the corbin seat is not hugging the tank as good as the stock seat. Taking into account that I ride in one of the hottest parts of the U.S. and my bike regularly heats up to 212 degrees.
But the comfort is just incredible.

the finish is thier main production on thier web site, Flat carbon looking top, and i think they called the sides asphault. Look on thier site and it is the one pictured on the white 08. Thanks for the comments guys.

I wonder why there is such a huge gap between the seat and the tank? My stock seat fits tight against the tank... so tight it actually scuffs the paint.

Hey guys just talked to Corbin and they shipped my seat back out to me. The problem was the wrong tab in the front of the seat, its too small so they had to replace it. After replacing they tried it on a Z1000 and it fit perfectly. Anyone with this problem just contact Corbin to send your seat back and they should replace the front tab.

So no more sliding back and becoming unlatched and coming off after they replaced the tab??? I am calling Corbin tomorrow to have my seat sent back too. I just have to remember to take off the stock latching tabs to put back on my stocker so I'm not left without a seat to ride with for a week or two.

well update to the tab being to short problem. I didn't have to send my seat to them I just asked them to send a replacement tab. Installed it and the seat will still slide rearward in pulled on and come unlatched. The front of the seat will stay secure with the new tab in place but you can still pull the seat off of the bike. I think I am just going to home depot or the auto parts store and look for a fastener like these and epoxy some to the underside of the seat pan to fit into those holes in the seat frame like the stock seat does to keep it from sliding backward.

I really need a new seat, mine is killing my a**.

Does anyone know what color is closest to the stock orange seat? I love the color and would like to keep it if possible.

hello! i was wondering what you did and how on your pipes, they look awesome, mine is almost all black too, it would fit perfectly, thanks View attachment 59179
Just remove the trim piece, mask off the front and rear caps, scuff the center section with a Scotch pad, and paint the center section with flat black high temperature paint... You can also remove the gold tone from the cans first if you want black/silver instead of black/gold. Eagle One used to make a strong Mag Wheel cleaner that would remove the gold in about 30 seconds, but I haven't been able to find that exact formula in awhile.
