To mount an S fairing to an R frame you have to weld tabs that are not present on the R frame so it is quite possible that the S frame already has the mounting points needed for a straight bolt on operation.
You would also need the fairing stay which also holds the turn signals and headlight bucket.

In any case it would be easier to turn an S into an R than the other way around. The problem is getting your hands on a nice R fairing. They are pricey and getting to be unobtainium.
