Well, I finally got to see and test the prototype Zero Gravity windscreens for the 7S. They have two styles, the sport touring model and the double bubble.

I tried the double bubble first and unfortunately I had to test it on the freeway with a lot of turbulence from other cars and crosswinds, so I didn't really get a good idea of how much difference it made. My thoughts are that it raised the wind a couple of inches and cut down on the buffeting. Not a huge difference though. Glenn said that he was going to make another one a couple of inches taller and I should get to test that one next week some time. The double bubble looks great though! I think it made my bike look more sporty.

Then I tried the sport touring model. This one is much higher and puts the wind about 4-5 inches higher than normal. This one didn't seem to cut the buffeting like the double bubble did, but like I said it was hard to tell riding on the freeway with all the crosswinds I was experiencing. Overall, much better than the stock screen though. I didn't like the looks of this one as much, but it still looks good.

If you want to see pictures of these two, go to the link below.

I'll let you know after I test the new double bubble. Only this time I will take it on some different roads.

Great reporting canyondog! I really like the looks of that double bubble design on the bike. Hopefully, a little taller one will make a bigger difference in wind control. Even though it doesnt look quite as sporty, I would consider the sport touring one if it did a significantly better job. Keep after em till the get it right!

Zero Gravity

Did you get an estimate on availability? I'd love to get the
Sport-Touring ASAP.

I think it looks pretty good.

Thanks. I happen to like the looks of the Sport-Touring model. The prototype is even tinted the way I would buy it.

I hope they manage to make it available soon. Did you tell Glenn that you were posting the photos?

I think Glenn was the only one testing the screens while they had a bike from Kawasaki. I think their tests consists of jumping on the bike and riding it up and down the freeway. They had to give it back on Monday, so as far as I know I'm the only testing that will be going on from here out. Unless they take my bike out for a spin when they use it (I told them they could use my bike now if they need it). It's not like they do wind tunnel tests or anything like that.

I plan on trying them out on some less traveled and twistier roads. I'll let you know more later.

Hey SamNavy, that would look bad-*** with the blacked-out headlight screens.

Just imagine the 2002 with the same treatment! Blue on Black.

3 more weeks - again

3 weeks ago I called Zero Gravity to get a status on windshields. I was told to call in 2 weeks. I gave them an extra week and called today......

3 more weeks!:yell:

This is pathetic. Does anyone know of any other vendors?

I hear your pain

I e-mailed Glenn at Zero Gravity a couple of days ago for an update and hopefully a chance to try out the taller double bubble. I still have not heard back from him. I don't know what to tell you guys. Hopefully we will have some screens someday soon.

Good Luck. The people who can't handle Corbin's customer-centric policies apparently go to Zero-Gravity.

Last word was 2 weeks from now....

I e-mailed ZG last Friday and here is what I got today:
"Hi,
We should have all three ready hopefully next week sometime. The stock replacement version will cost $64.95 for clear and $69.95 for tints and the Double Bubble and Sport Touring versions will be $74.95 for clear and $79.95 for tints. We should have pictures available around the end of next week. I'll put you on a list of people to contact when we have them available. Thanks for your patience...ZG"
I'll keep everyone informed when I recieve someone to contact. I told them my bike was involved in a accident and needed windshield I also told them that I had been following the progress of the prototype windshields and was very interested.

What I'd really like to get is a screen that lowers the windblast a few inches. As it is now, my head is right in the upper levels of turbulence. If I straighten up my back, it sneaks it out of that buffeting air and into smoother wind.

I received an e-mail from Zero Grazity (the Gravity Man) and he said that the Sport Touring Windscreen is ready but they're still working on the Double Bubble.

I have put in an order for the Tinted Sport Touring screen and it should be ready for me to pick up next Wednesday.

I'll let you guys know what I think but for those of you that were interested in the Sport Touring windscreen, give Zero Gravity a call.

I have attached the picture they sent me.

Update

Netlore:

I was at Zero Gravity today when you placed your order! Here is the scoop: First of all please don't call them. Glenn mentioned that he was getting calls and e-mails at to the status, and I sensed a little frustration. Like Netlore said they should have the sport touring model available by next Wednesday (but you know how that goes). He put it on my bike and there was one more adjustment to be made. I am holding out for the double bubble which he said the had to start over on because of a problem with the tooling (the mold basically I think). I know that several of you guys are getting tired of waiting, but in their defense, they have been spending most of their time setting up new machinery over there and I'm just guessing that making our screen is not a top priority for them. This is just my opinion though. After all our bike is not a very poular model at least in the states, and they aren't going to get rich selling screens for our bikes. I'm just glad that they are willing to make the screen at all. So hang in there.
