Hello fellow ninja warrior riders,

I bought my used 2009 motorcycle about a month ago. This is my first bike and I wanted to post my impression of it stock and then afterward when I installed the yoshimura slip on. Now this bike is rated at about 65 horsepower and I looked online to try and find evidence of it being worth investing 400 dollars into an aftermarket exhaust for more than just aesthetics and sound improvement. I found a dyno video of what the results were from the slip on yoshi vs stock ninja **** can muffler exhaust.. They showed how the bike gained an average 2-6 hp depending on the rpm's which I thought was pretty descent not to mention about 5 mpg increase as well over stock! I can assure you that more power has been gained as a result from putting it on. Either directly from freeing up the engines exhaling capabilities or from the fact that the yoshimura weighs a whole 11 pounds lighter. The bike definitely feels more agile and it sounds amazing. I'm also noticed by the people driving cages which is always an improvement in safety not to mention the backfiring and sound improvement definitely feels badass and turns heads. Also before I would only go into 6th gear cruising at speeds of 45mph but now with better air flow I'm able to keep my rpms lower and go into 6th at 35mph. The exhaust took me about 2.5 hours to install (took my time) and was relatively easy and I'd recommend this so you learn more about your bike and save hundreds of dollars. Think of it like a bonding moment with your steel horse machine. All in all I'm terrifically happy about this upgrade and the way it sounds and looks. I would recommend this exhaust for anyone with a 650r as I truly know that the improvements are real with a plethora of benefits. You will not be disappointed plus it is an exciting project. Go for it and you'll be amazed at the POS stock muffler they put into your bike!!

Your fellow Ninja Rider,

-David

Why is it all the rage to tuck in the pipes? I like the looks of a cool tip that you can actually see like on older bikes. I would love to see a system that has longer head pipes so the tip is out on the side so all can see. I am old fart and still love the styles from 80,s and 90,s sport bikes. All the sharp angles on newer ones just do not do it for me. That pipe would look better if I could see more of the tip. Still looks nice though.
