Cleaned the carb painted some pieces. Got it all back together now it wont even turn over. Batteries good testing at 11.5 clutch, kill switch off. Just nothing. I'm at a loss help!!?!! Please?
Tried using a jump starter because the volts seemed slightly low i think im gonna try jumping it with my vulcan haha any other trouble shooting ideas? Im distraught it started when i first got it.The battery should be reading at least 12v when not running and around 14 when running.
I'd first give it a charge or a boost. I'm guessing this should correct it.
If any of the lights work then the ignition switch should be fine.
The next to check is the kill switch in the on position.
Then is the bike in neutral and the side stand down? Did you also pull in the clutch?
There are usually safety switches in the side stand and clutch lever to prevent the bike from starting when not in neutral.
It's also worth checking the fuse box for any blown fuses, especially if no lights come on when you turn the key.
If all those seem ok, next would be be a stuck starter. Give it a light tap with a rubber mallet.
If none of these work let us know![]()
