So I know NOTHING at all on what I really am looking for.. just a way to talk to wife while we are riding .. if we can get some music to that would be great.. so I have been looking at communications set ups that i can not afford. Then I found some n wish.com.. and I can afford some of them .. if they are what I am looking for. Anyone willing to help educate and refer? We ride two up and both have full face helmets and both carry our IPhones (naturally)

To be honest, it's as simple as it looks.

Want a good, reliable setup, with good customer service and replacement parts? Spend 400$ on a pair of Senas

Would you be satisfied spending less on something that will work less reliably and worse, but will probably get the job done? Go with the Asian market option.

Just need music and GPS instructions, but not necessarily rider to rider communication? Spend 30$ on some in ear bluetooth headphones and you'll get audio quality superior to Sena.

I'm a chinesium goods addict, and even I wouldn't buy a generic chinese intercom. Intercoms are really hard to get right, and they really benefit from customer service and replacement parts. Over the years Sena's CS has solved a lot of problems for me, and sent a lot of free replacement parts. Personally, I'd save up or buy used.

The issue isn't that it's unreliable. It's that it gets ridden hard. Exposed to water, bumped on the outside of the helmet, the wires removed and reinstalled when inner pads are taken out for cleaning, the battery eventually loses capacity (all batteries are consumables), etc, etc. Sena is definitely high quality, it's just that bluetooth intercoms in general get treated rough. And given that helmet intercoms are a niche good that doesn't get sold by the millions, I can hardly complain about the price, either.

If you really are that cheap, then hey, sure, get the cheapest bluetooth helmet intercom you can find. For rider to passenger communication the needs are pretty low so you may very well be satisfied. Just know that eventually you will be complaining, which is okay. Decide your budget and your needs, and go from there. But me personally, even having a Sena 20S, I use cheap bluetooth headphones 90% of the time. To be honest, unless I need rider to rider communication, I prefer them. They're not an intercom, but for everything else they work great.
