I just bought my first bike back in june, 09 ex650r, it was a left over in the show room so it came with the full 4 year warranty. If I get a new exhaust to put on it will that effect my warranty at all?

easy answer... yes, no, maybe

how well do you know your dealer? a good relationship with them? If the dealer wants and can link any trouble to any issue, there goes your warranty on that issue.
so is it possible yes, chances are no

If you need any warranty issues done, you could always put back the stock exhaust. I have never met a bike dealer that cared, but have heard horror stories of car dealerships refusing warranty work on cars because of things like an exhaust or cai when the problem has nothing to do with the add ons.

It definitely depends. If you have an issue that is created from a lean condition in the engine and they don't want to cover it they can say the aftermarket exhaust caused it. Why do you want an aftermarket exhaust anyway? You want people looking at you while you ride by?

thanks for the info. much appreciated. And i know the dealer pretty well. My family has gone throu this guy with alot of stuff. and @ twowheeladdict, I just don't really like the way the factory exhaust sounds. I don't really care if people look at me or not, I'm just big on exhaust systems. One of my first changes I made to my truck was taking the factory exhaust off and adding on a glass pack.
