Took stator cover off and bike won’t start???

Hi all,

I have a 2016 Ninja 650 and took my left fairings and stator cover off to replace them. After putting the new ones on and refilling my oil I’m encountering two issues:
1. My bike won’t start at all. When I hit the ignition a single clicking noise happens and then some weird noises coming from the engine (sort of like its trying to turn on or something).
2. My headlights don’t work on low and also high beams don’t work anymore.

I thought it was my battery so I charged it over night on my trickle charger and tried again but no luck, same single clicking noise and engine noises.

Is it possible that my battery is fully dead or more likely that I fudged the stator wire loose or some other wiring to make my bike not start and headlights not work?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Battery is my first thought. Did you put a multimeter on the battery once you charged it? Try jump-starting it from another vehicle. If it starts - then most probably dead battery.

I ended up taking it all apart and rewired everything and it worked luckily. Must’ve been a loose wire connected to the stator or somewhere else. Appreciate the reply though, cheers
