The staples on the neck of the seat have scrubbed off paint on the tank. Has anyone else had this problem? I taped the neck of the tank with PVC tape, but really want to look for a more permanent solution.

I just noticed these the other day as well. I think some of it is just the dirt that gets around the edge of the seat, but since you mention the staples, I would assume they are scratching as you say. Maybe you could sew a flap on the overhang of the material that would cover the staples. Keep in mind though that anything rubbing is going to cause some damage. Before doing anything, verify the staples are doing damage as I would think that Kawasaki would have thought of this. Of course worse mistakes have been made in the past...

If you get a Corbin, then it doesn't fit as well (ie. there is a small gap between the seat and the tank), so this problem might go away.

Enough reason to consider a Corbin ??
