Hi

Recently had the carbs balanced on the bike. When the bike is connected to a auxillery fuel tank everything runs as it should, ticks over just over 1000rpm. As soon as the tank is reconnected the idle jumps up to 4000 rpm. I have tried adjusting the idle to the point where it completely unscrewed but the tick over doesn't change. It will go up but not down

Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum.

See if opening the gas cap makes any difference when the tank is connected. My thought process is what's different between the aux tank and the main tank. I'm guessing the aux tank is just a straight drain and has an open vent system. Perhaps the vent on the main tank is plugged? Opening the gas cap should simulate the aux tank.
