Im getting curious as to Graeme's where abouts. By now he should have reached the Nullabour Plain (check your maps) and from that point on there will be nothing much besides desert until he gets to Perth.

If you read this Mr Gould, There is lots of cold beer in the fridge, your bedsheets are clean and ironed, and the bike bay is kept reserved for one Blue ZR-7........

Hope you are having an amazing adventure.

Give us an update as soon as you get some word from GG. Though according to his calcs, he would be by Perth around the 3rd or 4th of May.

Keep us posted....

I'm very anxious to hear from Graeme too.

First I think, why doesn't he just call on the phone(to Jessica). Then I think, he doesn't want to be tethered by a phone line. He's on his journey. I (we) will just have to wait for him.:)

Looking at one of the maps, that looks like a pretty good trek. About how many km is that from his area to yours Jess?

I think it would be about 7000km (4400 miles) by road. It is about 1/3 of the whole trip. Most of the way there will be absolutley nothing besides desert.
By now I think he would be somewhere about the town of Eucla on the Western Australian and South Australian border.

Just a guess tho... Still waiting on news from Graeme.

The temps would be 20-30c (68-86F) all the way to Perth. I have been watching the weather and there has been quite a bit of rain in the eastern states. Graeme has been riding away from that so he should'nt be too badly effected by it. The nights are cold in the desert, but days are warm. Perth weather is great this time of year. It rarely rains and the days are mild and sunny. Graeme chose this time of year especially for the trip. The wet season has ended in the north, and that will be the most tricky part of the journey. Its a damn long way between towns and petrol stations.

That's real good riding weather (Sounds alot like San Diego weather). I hope he hits all his gas stops right and has extra to carry with him. That bike would be awful hard to push with all the gear on it.

Reading about the desert and Lake Disappointment sounds alot like the Imperial Valley and the Salton Sea only the Salton Sea has a river (the New River) that flows to it that's highly contaminated with all kinds of bad stuff from factories in Mexicali, Mexico.

The "Red Tide" that's mentioned (next post) is when the different chemicals and "heavy metals" cause a color change at different times. It's so bad you can't hardly stand next to it.......and it doesn't "flow" it oozes.
