I had to ad observations to the title because I don't have any stories or pictures to share at this instant. I will have pictures later though.

My observation is this....
What kind of person owns/rides the Ninja 650R??? :dunno: Cause that bike has been out for some time now (3 years??) and we have never had one show up for a ROTR - at least as far as I know.... Seems odd to me... Oh Well!

That's it. That's all I've got at the moment.

It is good to hear that everyone is back safely and also good to know that Stan and Jennar (sp?) had a good day. Now I have a case of the "what if's". Second guessing my choice to leave when I did... Oh well.... It was a good time just the same.

Looks and sounds like you all had fun except for a few downs. It happens. Sorry I could not make it this year. I was just one those roads a couple of days before ya. Had a blast on a 1700 mile trip I took with a few friends here in GA.

The trip I just took was the last for the CBR, once we got back it went up on Ebay and sold within a few days. I'm in need for a name change, VFR800Lady. I ended up with a 02 VFR with only 13000 miles, just getting broke in and nice Scorpion pipes. My old CBR held up well with only one fix while on the road, but with almost 50000 it was time for the old girl to go.

Oh and for the ones I told last year that I had plans to track the CBR, I did and it was awesome. Not sure yet if I will track the VFR, but only time will tell.

I hope to try to make it next year with Serp to ride with you all again. Till then, ride safe and have fun.

On one of our late nights partaking of the the local beers, we talked about this youtube video of Hitler getting a BMW GS. The link has been posted here before (thanks to however did that) but this is freakin hilarious. Stan needs to see this

It was obviously done by a Honda VFR owner. Slams BMW, but doesn't do Kawasaki any favors either.... Hilariously well done stuff. The actual video is from a movie but the subtitles are obviously added in. Vera and Jenner, don't get all bent outa shape here, it's just a spoof. (Last year Vera didn't see the humor when I told her my grandfather died at Auschwitz either... told her he fell out of the guard tower)... No digs intended on Stan either for the BMW.

Well I'm riding out to Emporia Virginia tomorrow to plead my case (speeding 70/55) to the judge. Coming home from ROTR8 I was so anxious to get home and grab a cold one that I got a little carried away.

So I took a day off work (and as it turns out it's gonna be a nice day) and it's a nice 2-hour ride back to Emporia, and we'll see what we can do. Maybe if I pout I can get it reduced 6 mph, which is 9 mph over the limit, which is 1 less DMV point than 15 mph over in VA. :wavehand:

Well sort of. The judge reduced it down to a non-moving violation "faulty equipment- general" which doesn't carry any points and doesn't get reported to DMV. Still charged me the same fine though ($136). I guess they got bills to pay too. And I never even opened my mouth in court other than to say "thank you".

Can't figure it out, other than I told the officer that my tank bag, which was about a foot tall, was partially obstructing my view of the speedometer (which is true for the most part). He may have put that in his report. Looked like the judge already new the particulars of the case and had already reviewed my driving record prior to me getting called up. Faulty equipment? You be the judge. :smokin:

At any rate... time for that cold one. SWEET!!!

Oh, and sorry to hear about your encounter Serp. Did the other two riders in the picture get tickets too? We know of course that the ticket is bogus because you, like me, never exceed the speed limit. :BS: But you might want to try the tank bag factor. I can't really tell but it looks like you might have one on Suzi in the picture. Hope everything works out OK. We expect details you know. Good luck.

Yeah we all 3 got cited, not sure if I want to go through the trouble of seeing the judge for it, it's only 3 points so I'll probably just drop a check in the mail, in 3 years no one will care.

That's pretty cool Kelly. It must be your school-boy looks and charm!
I guess the fine isn't too bad. At least there were no points with it. Not bad all in all! Glad it worked out tolerably. Enjoy that Cold One (or two) :alcy:

Glad to hear it woked out okay for you Kelly. In FL we can take a computer class which gets the points taken off but you still end up paying. I figure if I have to pay it I may as well get the points taken off.

For any FL riders reading this, while I was in GA a few weeks back one of us FL riders got stopped and almost had his bike impounded because he did not carry any insurance (legal in FL). He managed to keep his bike by having some friends go back and get a trailer and trailer the bike back to the campground. Several FL riders got basic coverage the next day.

I don't think you can make another 3 yrs without a ticket. But time will tell. I made it 2 yrs. 11 months and 1 week. without a ticket now I got to start over.:yell:

Glad you got that reduced Kelly! From what I understand most courts aren’t out to get you. As long as you don't have a horrible record they'll work with you.

I got a ticket for going 19 over in my cage that I am in the process of fighting. Court date is in about 2 months. Need to put a case together.
