I am hopeful we can do ROTR 20 this May. Any other optimists out there?

I wish you guys luck. Very unlikely you'll see any Canadians unless they are already wintering somewhere down that way.
I think we should. My BMW group is going late April and we have over 50 people going.

I am up for it. If we were able to have the ride last year, this year should be doable. Last year the biggest problem seemed to be some restuarants in Maggie Valley were not open yet but this year should be better.

Absolutely I'm in. I'm not looking forward to the large BMW group thing as much as getting together with you guys. Common Riders it's the 20th!

I'm also ready to tour/cruise with my new bike, a BMW K1600B Bagger (actually used 2018).

Did you get rid of the XR?
No, of course not. The XR is for canyon carving with you guys.

NICE!!! Glad you kept the XR.
Hey, bring your Harley and I'll bring my Bagger.
I have seen guys on your Beemer hit the curves pretty hard. BTW, I could be convinced. In 2 weeks I am trading in my '08 Dresser for a new Ultra Limited (dresser). We'll have to decide a little closer in time.:)
I guess we should get the ball rolling on the when and where of ROTR 20 since is March already here. Hopefully Andrew, Jon, Gump, Suphtr and others will be able to join us this year for the 20th anny.

We normally have ROTR the weekend after Mothers day which would be May 13 - 16 this year. This allows us to move it to the following weekend of May 20 - 23 if that weekend is a rainout. The weekend of 5/29 is Memorial day weekend which we avoid due to traffic. I suggest we keep it on 5/13 or 5/20 if 5/13 does not work for most.

Where do we want to stay? We usually stay in Maggie Valley or Wytheville so do we want to stay in one of these locations or try somewhere else? NC and Maggie Valley is pretty much opened up now and I would assume Wytheville is also but I am not sure about that. Everyone chime in as mid May is only 10 weeks away.

Maggie Valley, Wytheville, Hillsville, Mt. Airy are all fine with me. The weather seems a little more reliable in June but I’m fine with mid-May too.
Mid May is fine with me. I'm game with all locations Andrew suggested.

The weekend after Mother's day is good. I always like Maggie Valley and I am ok wherever we stay.

Where was the first ROTR? It must have been great since it has lasted 20 years. Maybe that could be the location.
I think the first ROTR was held in Mt Airy but Craig would have to confirm that. My first ROTR was 4 or 5. I think it was only held in Mt Airy one year and then moved to Hillsville for several years. I heard some horror stories about the hotel they had in Mt Airy.
I am okay with any location but I am not very familiar with the VA roads so someone that is could put together some ride routes. I assume VA is pretty much open now but someone from there can confirm.
Rob, you're our leader so you should pick your favorite. I think the rest of us are sheep or silent till the ride so we live with your decision. Maggie Valley was always great unless there was a big event the same week.
I just lead the rides, I am not the group leader. I am not sure we have a group leader. Any location is fine with me, its just that i know the NC,GA and TN roads better than the VA roads since I ride there more. I didn't know if people wanted a change of scenery since we have been in MV the last two or three years. There are plenty of roads out of Wytheville to make three days of riding. I found a map with a bunch of rides in the extreme western tip of VA but I have not ridden many of them so I am not sure how they are.

I assume Craig is in so it appears we have 5 riders so far. Hopefully Jon, Gump or others will be able to join us. We should probably decide on a location and make reservations before the end of March. It sounds like Mike prefers MV so if anyone else has any preferences on location now is the time to chime in. I wish I knew how to make the survey questionnaire with check boxes like Jon used to make but I am not that tech savvy. We will stick with the weekend after Mothers Day which will be 5/13 thru 5/16 since this is our usual weekend and it allows us to push it back a week if it looks like a rainout.

Rob, I like MV but if a different place strikes someone's fancy I am good with that too. We always have a good time no matter where we stay.
Thanks for posting the poll Ed. Looks like only one vote has been cast and that was for Hillsville. I guess everyone is okay with where ever we go since all the locations have great riding. We are six weeks out from go time so I propose we let the poll run thru the weekend and which ever location leads on Monday morning is where we go. Vote now if you have a preference. It appears we have 5 going assuming that Craig is coming. I have not seen any indication from Jon or Gump but hopefully they can make it and anybody else who wants to ride some great roads and have a great time.

On a side note, I looked into some of the hotels that we have stayed at in each location and the two VA hotels were less expensive than NC. Days Inn in Wytheville and Quality Inn in Hillsville were both about $250 and Best Western Maggie Valley was slightly under $400 for the 4 nights.
