Question Concern with coolant

925 Views 6 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  PoltArt
Last friday I was in a little accident on my Z. I have bad tires and stupid me went on a ride with friends and fell on a turn and the bike slid. My rearset bracket broke other then that little scratches here and there and thats it.

Tonight I went to bike night which is 10 minutes away and when I got home I heard my coolant sizzling, I opened it up and it was an inch over the Full limit.

I was going around 35 mph's on my way home so between 6-7/12 rpm.

Do you guys think that caused the coolant to sizzle like it did since I can't shift form 1st gear at the moment, or is there a bigger issue?

shifting will be a separate issue.

when the bike was on it's side collant most likely went from the system to the res. run the bike like normal and the system will siphon the coolant it needs.

sorry about your down.
So in other words things will return to normal on its own?
I don't understand what you mean exactly about the shifting?

why can't you shift out of 1st gear? it won't be from the coolant issue. mechanical damage from the wreck(rearset)?
Oh that, yeah my rearset bracket that connects the shifter to the knob broke I already ordered a new one.

Alright then hopefully that will be the solution! :)

Thanks!
