Paint sealant protection

2003 Views 11 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  wheelie
I waxed my last bike. I have learned that paint sealants do a good job of protecting the paint, like wax, and last a lot longer. Some of them (acrylic based) can be used on the paint as well as the plastic.... Anyone have experience with these products? Names I've seen or Wolfgang and Klasse.

Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, klasse SG sealant, klasse sealant glase, klasse sealant
Thanks.

Google Rejex for one of the very best paint sealants.

If one prefers a natural carnuba wax product, you can't do better than Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845. (ignore the unfortunate name)

Neither of these products will goof up plastic with white residue.

Both Wolfgang and Klasse make top notch stuff. I used to detail for several years a long time ago.

I use Klasse sealant glaze on my car, and sometimes on the bike too. Probably the most durable of any sealant, but it's somewhat difficult to work with unless you apply it just right. The less the better or it will streak. I usually top it with something like Mothers synwax because it's so easy to work with and gets the streaks from the Klasse out. I also polish first with Menzerna SIP to get the scratches out.

Haven't tried wolfgang yet, but I've read good things about it. Well, I tried Wolfgang Suck at the airport and it lived up to it's name.

I used to use Collinite paste on my black hulled boat. Its awesome!
I've been using klasse on my cars and bike for years now. Love that stuff.
Thanks guys, I just ordered the Klasse.
Next question. :)

I put the Klasse on in late June.... is there anything I should do in preparation of putting on another application, other than washing and removing any tar or other residuals?
I use Zaino. It is one of the polymer waxes that will last as long as any of the others. My cars can easily go a year without needed another application.
I do the three step process.....First Meguires fine cut cleaner (only if you have scratches) then MG polish...the polish is what makes it shiny, but you can smudge it with your fingers..then couple coats of wax (that will seal the shine) you won't have to touch it again.they every couple days, wipe it down with showcar quick finsher..whatever brand you buy, make sure you use a polish, then sealer(wax) Your surface will be so slick, mosquitoes will break their neck when they land on it. Use Microfiber clothes (harborfreight) and dedicate one for each type of application.
