i carried out my annual oil change and now the oil light stays on, is it just a case of leaving the engine to run for longer? id hate to do any damage

This has been discussed on several ocasioins. it appears the oil pump has issues priming after an oil change some times. the solution seems to be to crack the oil filter loose so that air can bleed out of the system. leave is loose and start the bike. as soon as oil starts to leak from the oil filter sealing are tighten it back down. and you should now have il pressure and the light should go off.

Thanks, I read up about the pump priming issue, filled up the filter to the brim prior to refitting it today, Bingo! lights out! thanks
