Greetings everyone
I have a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 650 with just under 10k miles

I was riding out a round a bout shifting from 1st to 2nd. Heard a noise and loss of power so I shifted to neutral and coasted onto shoulder. I had a smaller puddle of oil under front sprocket area.
I'm assuming it happened from the age and condition of the chain. I did a chain adjustment about 350 miles ago. The likely cause is my lack of maintenance. Yes I know. Hoping to learn from this.
Was also hoping to find some more experienced guidance on here as to the next steps I should take with fixing it.... Do I need to drop the motor? Can I replace a part or two of the case or am I buying a whole motor?
