Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions for new tires (RADIALS) What size Front/Rear and what Brand? I know the OEM sizes are Front 130/70-17 and rear is 170/60-17.

I was thinking of going Front 120/70-17 and rear 180/?-17. I was having problems finding the tire sizes.

How many miles a year are you planning on riding the Meanie?

Don't invest in high mileage tires which sacrifice grip if you are not going to wear them out in 4 years.

Sport touring tires are a good choice for the Mean Streak. There are new tires out today, but when i had my Mean Streak I was happy with Shinko Raven 009 tires. I ran stock on the rear and 120/70-17 on the front which worked good with the reaper fender.

On a good year I would guess I could put a 1500 miles on the bike. This year it rained a lot so not so much. I don't believe I would wear them out in 4 years. Did the Shinko Raven 009s you mention have more of a grip or designed for higher mileage? If you could, please recommend some tires you like that have good grip. I now own two Mean Streaks

A few years ago when I needed new tires I just went with typical sport bike sizes. In front a 120-70-17 and in back a 180-55-17. I've had no problems. There are plenty of options. I went with Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT.

I run stock sizes with Bridgestone Battleaxe. I got 12,000 miles front and rear on the last set. They wore equally front and rear.
