G'day trendsetters. Hoping to get some advice on my yet to arrive 2021 Z1000. I currently have a 2nd generation (2009) z1000 that I've had for 10 years and love , hence getting another. When I purchased the 09 the rear shock was too hard and lacked adjustment and I was advised to replace it with a zx14 shock which I did. Straight fit, no alterations needed, had rebound, compression and preload and it has been perfect.
I've been told that the model I'm purchasing now (not the supercharged model) has the same problem with the rear shock, only has rebound and preload and was wondering if anyone has done a swap similar to what i did with the 09. I'm hoping to do the same ie: just get a zx10 or whatever shock fits and is a straight fit and better suited.
Thanks in advance, Macca.

There really isnt a cheap, easy shock for this bike. One really good option is to send the stock shock to Traxxion Dynamics. For around 375, they revalve and re-spring the stock shock. It's an amazing difference and well worth doing.
