Got a chance to ride my old 2012 N1K again. Was surprised how good the rear shock felt, no back pain at all. Guess Kawaski went with an even cheaper rear shock for the 5th Gen N1K. Wish Kawasaki would put a high-end suspension on the N1K, then they might be competive with the MV Augusta Turismo Veloce

I would rather keep it the way it is. If Kawasaki upgraded the shock and fork, the cost would increase. At that point you have oem quality suspension. Sure, it might be higher quality, but theres no way its set up for a correct weight.
The way it is now, those who dont care are not paying a premium price for the bike. Those of us who do can easily upgrade our bikes for less thna the cost difference between an MV and a Ninja 1000. At tha tpoint we have quality components set up for our weight. Plus, this bike runs and ,and is free of defects. MV? LOL
