My 2008 Ninja 650EX rear shock is insanely stiff. I have the spring on the lowest setting, despite this on even a medium sized bump it gets my 190 lb plus body off the seat. It seems to work ok at low speed I can feel it compress but at highway speeds it just doesn’t work.I called around and couldn’t find a company that makes an aftermarket shock for a 2008. Will a shock from another Ninja fit and be an improvement ?

You could try fitting a Versys shock, but that would raise your seat height a little. Try changing the spring. There are a few companies that provide springs for the Ninja 650. One is Sonic Springs. They make great front fork springs for the Ninja as well. I have bought front springs from them and the owner is super helpfull. Just contact them with your issue.
