I have a Micron Round Carbon slip-on for sale for the ZR-7 or ZR-7S. It has 100 miles on it. It does NOT have any scratches on it. I put in back into the original box just the way it came from the factory. Even the box is like new.

It has a 1.5" end cap (the original is 2"). The 1.5" end cap tones the loudness down a little. This slip-on sounds and looks great.

I purchased it for $380.00 and the end cap cost another $68.00.

I would like to sell it to someone on this forum. It is the only place that I'm offering it for sale. I would like to start the bidding off at $200.00.

Depending how the bidding goes I will stop the bidding anytime.

The Fedex shipping costs will be paid by me. I will ship it out COD and a personal check is okay.

Here in Silicon Valley where I live there are mostly snobby people with expensive homes. They don't appreciate a nice sounding motorcycle. I don't like getting that evil eye from my neighbors.

I was afraid of that. I'm looking for a can that isn't very loud. I live in San Francisco, so your neighbors are my neighbors.

Hi Hootbro,

I would like to get $200.00

Are you interested? Or are you suggesting I put it on ebay?

Can't you just save it for weekends or canyon blasts?

I guess its just a 10min change over.

:)

ps: Andy if you do put it on ebay tell them it fits a ZX-9. You will get your price easy from the sportsbike guys.

What's the color? Is it stainless, titanium, or what?

As for the neighbors, I don't get too much grief, but the one time I did, I told the guy, "okay, I'll stop riding this bike and ride the Harley sitting right there with LEGAL pipes that is about 20 times louder". I put up the ZR7s, started up the Harley, rode off, and he never said another word! He's happy that I don't ride the Harley to work at 5:00 in the morning!!

I'm sorry you are selling your pipes. Are they just looking, or have they actually said something?

Do you have a picture of the pipes??? (on the bike or off)

Andy mentioned in his first post 'Micron Round Carbon slip-on', so it must be Carbon :D

Hi Twyla,

Yes it is a Round Carbon Micron.

Regarding my neighbors, they haven't said anything, I just want to be a good guy about it.

Andy,

Just sent you my address from my work e-mail.
I'm due for a valve adjustment (6500 miles right)
and decided I was going to also:

1. Get loader exhaust to make sure I have a chance to
be at least heard (if not seen).
2. Rejet the engine (Using Holeshot's Stage 1 Jet Kit).
3. Cut down on the dive (Using Holeshot's Progressive Springs.)
4. Get the Sport Touring or Taller Double Bubble Fairing
when it's released by Zero Gravity.

Any word on that yet CanyonDog I remember you were
supposed to try out the taller double bubble soon.

Now I just need to find a shop to do it all. I'm not
incredibly mechanical so I want to make sure it's all
done right.

Got It.

Andy,

I missed the Fed Ex shipment today but just came back from going down to the main local office to pick it up. :)

I still haven't had a chance to put it on yet but will probably slip out later tonight and put it on. I'll let you know how it goes.

It's on

I finally finished putting the new can on. Looks sweet.
I started it quickly to get a little taste of the sound.
Sounds good but I really need to take it for a spin to really
hear it. :D

I'll let you know tomorrow morning after my ride to work.

What a Sound

Andy,

Why one earth would you want to get rid of that terrific sound ?
This is how I expected a bike like this to sound. What a growl!!

You you shouldn't be thanking me for purchasing it from you
(best purchase I've made, quick and easy). I should be thanking
you for having such snotty neighbors and selling it to me.

I live on a street with Harley owners and Big, Diesel Engine,
Full-Size Trucks & SUVs. Now, I can finally be heard. :D

Stan,

I'm so glad you are happy with the purchase. I don't think there is a Harley in all of Los Altos (population 27,000).

Small Town

It's funny, despite it's fairly small population of 31K, Moorpark
is full of Motorcycle owners. There is actually a Harley Shop in
Moorpark (the only MotorCycle shop in Moorpark BTW) if that
indicates the number of Harleys in my town.

Every night as I'm heading to bed I can hear the SportBikes
zipping around town. Moorpark is kind of a farm town, lots
of big truck & suvs, mobilehomes, dirt bike owners and street
bike owners. Cool place to live, but you don't want to visit,
the streets get rolled up at 9 PM.
