My 2007 meanstreak kinda bogs down/loses power on the freeway and it only really happens around 70+. Will be steady on the throttle and it will just cut off for a split second and then continue on its way. Any ideas?
Start with the basic stuff first. Make sure your air filter is clean. Run through that procedure to clean the throttle body and use some of the Seafoam in your gas as well.
Honestly, that sounds like an issue with fuel getting to the engine. Could be the PCIII having a faulty map or perhaps something is wrong with your fuel injection. If it's happening consistently at the same speed/rpm I think it's the PCIII. Did you have it dyno tuned or did you use a pre-loaded map?
Is the loss of power at the same rpm and it comes on suddenly? Or does the engine rev really high and the power doesn't seem to translate to the rear wheel?
To push or pull a map can be done by anyone. BUT ... to properly "tune" a map takes either expertise, a dyno, or A LOT of time and patience making minor adjustments and testing. There's how-to videos out there but it still feels like rocket science.
You'll need a laptop with the Control Center software installed and a usb mini (not micro) cable to connect to the PC3. Once connected, first thing to do is pull the current map on the PC3 down to your laptop. You'll want to keep a backup of that just in case. There should be other maps for your bike available to download from Dynojet. Search by make and model. You can use those to compare to your current setup.
