Mean Streak choke and idle screw

I'm not a new rider, however, I'm new to the mean streak. I just bought a 2007 MS 1600 and absolutely love it although the stock pipes and intake have got to go. My problem is that everyone that sees my bike says it has to be carbureted bc it has the manual choke and an idle screw and they say they don't put those on fuel injected bikes. So I'm just wondering if anyone can help me clear up this confusion on why it has a manual choke instead of an electric choke and an idle screw when it's a fuel injected bike?

If everyone else is so sure it's not injected, make a bet. Then pull the cover on the right hand side and collect. :)

That is not a choke pull knob on the left, it is for a fast idle while the motor warms up. The idle adjuster is just that, it raises or lowers the idle RPM.

Since you're interested in changing intakes, take a look at some of these Bad Ace intakes...http://www.riderforums.com/search.php?searchid=438797
Along with some of Paul's other goody's...http://www.riderforums.com/search.php?searchid=438801

Well that makes sense. Thanks for the help! And I tried the links for the intakes and it didn't show anything.

Hmmm,it was working before, some kind of glitch I guess. OK, no problem, just look in the Mean Streak for sale section with threads started by fullercnc...or go to the top of the page on the right side of the search box and hit 'advanced'...type in the forum name 'fullercnc' under 'user name' and then 'intakes' for the key search word.
Let me try to link it again...http://www.riderforums.com/search.php?searchid=439227
There is some kind of time limit so click on the link as soon as possible. I think it's like Cinderella's coach that turns back into a pumpkin at midnight. :)

Here is a link to some of Paul's (fullercnc) parts on ebay...http://www.ebay.com/sch/pl8dude/m.h...essories&vxp=mtr&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
Welcome! Glad you got your problem sorted out!
I only clicked this thread because I'm in love with the mean streaks too... Bad A$$ bikes.. I always wanted to get one in the envy green.
Throw some viking bags on it http://www.vikingbags.com/kawasaki-eliminator-and-mean-streak-saddlebags.htm , straight pipes and just chill everyday riding into work.
I'm guessing that this fast idle doesn't kick down automatically like a choke once the temperature becomes operating level. Also, it appears that after replacing the fast idle cold start cable, that the control has three steps to the adjustment. Off, with the knob pressed all the way in, one step up to a lower idle increase, and another step up for the higher idle increase.

Is this accurate, or have my adjustments just 'worn'.

When I removed the old, broken fast idle cable, I noticed that it was kinked, binding at the connection to the lever on the throttle body. I feel that this was affecting my throttle response that had been kind of flaky lately.

I'll keep an eye on it, get back later.
