Hi srogaski!

Sorry I've taken a while to reply - I didn't see your post at first

Anyway, I had it done in France by a company called Sellerie Concept in Montpellier. I was really lucky that I had a friend at work who was going to Montpellier one Christmas to visit family and she agreed to take my stock seat with her. Sellerie Concept stripped down the stock seat to its base and "refoamed", reshaped and recovered the whole thing for £180 - I guess that's about $280?

The covering could have been in leather, part leather/part alcantara or almost all alcantara. I went for the latter. So far (1 year later) the alcantara is virtually as good as new and brushes up real nice. The profile is great - lower than stock for the rider, flatter for the pillion, so stopping that annoying sliding forward.

Because I wasn't going to be there for the fitting, they had me mark with tape where I wanted to sit on the stock seat. They did a perfect job and I'm very happy with it.

I guess Montpellier is too far for most people on the list, but if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll dig out their contact details.

I've just thought, if it helps at all, I could take a series of pics from different angles so that a company closer to home could make a copy? If that'd help, let me know. :)

Hey Stan,

Looks like another option - One of our French rider's custom seat?

And 2nd, have no idea who makes it - from the Micron Exhaust site...

As Scott stated, I just sent in my seat to Sargent Cycle for a Custom Seat. Their seats are normally geared toward the "long-haul" side rather than sporty. And they are comfy. When I get it back am going to test it out, see if I can get a couple of local guys to try it for a day - then send out to Scott and have him and a few others try it out.

From all that we will give Sargent feedback and make further mods if necessary for a 'best case seat'. Then they would have a Premium Foam Upgrade pattern anyone could use for their ZR-7 if they don't want to go through the total custom process. ie, send the seat in, ask for the ZR-7 PFU (and any covering options) and they send it back. Will let the forum know when that's done, etc...

I like the tank pad on the bike on Micron's site.
Jim, this is not a tank pad. It's the 'Bagster' tank cover. It's very popular in Europe, especially in France where they are made.
It comes with its own tankbag which is attached to the bagster cover with the special fittings that are visible in the photos.

The Bagsters are also popular in Greece, but I don't like them. I like my tank to be shiny :)
