The Lidlox is made out of some type of hard plastic. The one I ordered uses a bolt from the front brake lever. Then their is just a small key that unlocks it. I don't think it's super strong, but in areas that aren't really bad I'm sure I could leave my helmet attached for a bit (after taking off the cardo) so I don't have to carry around a helmet in a restaurant, store, etc. I also don't have to worry about it falling off the bike since it's attached by a locking pin which is nice. It did come with a metal T shaped piece of metal for helmets that use a ratchet strap or need to be a little longer to reach it.

It only took around 10 minutes to install and I know it sticks out a bit, but I don't think it looks bad at all. The function of it makes up for it and since it came in black I don't think it takes away from the looks. The install was super easy! :)

So far it's worked great. It's super convenient to just slip the D ring in and push the little button.
