Ok, so my EX came from the PO with a set of lighted tag bolts but the LED's were blown. I was at Radio Shack yesterday and picked up a new pair, figuring I'd just replace them.

Installed/wired one of them and turned the key. Lighted up briefly, turned from white to bluish and then went out. After a few minutes, it would re-light and do the same. Closer inspection of the package showed FW Volt- 3.3/ 3.6(max). Thinking maybe that's the problem? 3v LED's on a 12v system? Do they shut off if overpowered?

....or am I just way off base?

Thanks guys

That sounds right to me... heck I'm surprised they didn't blow out too. I would find LEDs that wil take 12v.

LED lights...

ALL led lights, require a series resistor, wired to limit current through them... yes, you are over powering them...for a single, small LED... put a 1000 ohm 1/8 watt resistor in series with your power wire, to the LED, or you WILL blow it.

Good luck :D
