Picked up a KLX300SM back in June. Have posted a picture or two in a CB1000R thread I started a while back. So now there is a thread for the KXL300SM. Anyone else riding a KLX-SM?

Yesterday was probably the last day for the year with temps in the 70's. Time to take out the KLX for a while. There are two ferries crossing the Green River about 45-50 miles north of the house.

Anyone can see the threads, but only registered members can comment and post 'likes' and so on. There are a lot of lurkers on every forum.

BTW - good to see you swing by.

My second rear wheel assembly was delivered about a week ago after about six weeks of being on back order.

After a check of spoke tension, I started the process of converting to a tubeless rim. In the past, I found that where some spokes do not completely fill the spoke nipple, an air pockets exists when the sealant is applied. During the curing time, the sealant sinks into the spoke nipple incompletely and results in an air leak.

This time, I filled the spoke nipples with GOOP and letting that cure before proceeding to cover the the rest. In the picture, the GOOP is visible in the middle of the spoke nipple. Not so much in the second photo; but, the second photo shows the bead lip to secure the tire--a detail needed for a tubeless conversion.

Feeling confident this will be good. Keep ya posted.

Got the 300SM out for an initial ride with the "dirt" wheels. The 19/17 inch set up works pretty good. A +2 teeth sprocket was added in the back to compensate for the increased aspect ratio for the back tire--70 to 80. Since the bike accelerates with a little less effort, it would be fair to say the +2 tooth sprocket is over-compensating. No problem. I like how it runs. Might have to get a 40t sprocket to go with the street wheels.
