We get so many questions on this, and when I first started looking a few months back I had a hard time finding what I was looking for. So I decided to start a Jetting database. Please respond and include the following.

Exhaust
modified airbox
K&N filter
Pilot Jet
Main Jet
Shim / or clip
Jet ket
elevation (if you know it)

Any other suggestions

Exhaust-Full Muzzy System
modified airbox-yes
K&N filter-yes
Pilot Jet- #35, 2.25 turns out, I recomend 2.5 turns out
Main Jet- Dynojet #104
Shim / or clip- Clip 3 slots from the top
Jet ket-Dynojet Stage 1
elevation (if you know it) 850 ft

Any other suggestions : Don't waste money on a Jet kit, simply get new jets, and shim the needles. Becareful with the #2 and #3 cylinders needles, and the emulation tubes they fit into are different then #1 and #4. My Muzzy is nice, however I recomend any aftermarket slipon but a D&D, they are too loud for me.

Exhaust - stock
airbox - stock
filter - stock
Pilot Jet - 38
Main Jet - stock
Shim / or clip - 2 shims, 1 mm total
Jet ket - Jarel's "partial" kit
elevation - 0 - 1000 ft
pilot screw - 0.75 turn

I have ridden little more than 1000 miles with this setup, but haven't finished fiddling with idle screws yet.

Later, if I'll have time, I plan to fit car oxygen sensor to the exhaust and fine tune carbs.

--edit--
Pilot screw settings were changed from 0.5 to 0.75 turns. I'm pretty happy with this set up now. I had detonation between 4000 and 5000 rpms when whacking throttle open going uphill, and now it's totally cured. Though I may try one shim insead of two. I'm getting 48 mpg cruising and riding twisties and 40 mpg on my commute, half of it are city streets, half freeway.

Exhaust: "Two Brothers Racing" slip on
Modified airbox: No, just white silencer removed
K&N air filter: Yes
Pilot Jet: #38, Idle screws set at 2 turns out
Main Jet: Stock #108
Shim/E clip: One .5mm shim on each needle
Jet Kit: "Motospecialties" partial rejetting kit (discontinued)
Elevation: Near sea level at home. Up to 3900 feet for fun.
Also have a 4° ignition advance.

Notes: I get 43 - 46 mpg with this setup. Starts nicely when cold. Linear acceleration, no flat spots or hesitations.

I have now gone back to stock exhaust. I removed the .5mm shims and sanded them down to .4mm. I also reset the idle mixture screws to 1 7/8 turns out.

I have decide to keep the stock exhaust and have gone back to stock jetting.
The off idle hesitation is back even though I've got the mixture screws set at 2.5 turns out. I'm hoping for an mpg increase.

Getting 46-50mpg all stock.

Going back to modded. Jardine street baffle, #38 pilots, pilot screws at 1.75 turns, K&N, drilled airbox as soon as I have time. :FIREdevil

Exhaust: Jardine street

modified airbox - 6 holes (3/8"?) and no 'snorkel'. The lower half of the lid with fingers that sticks down to hold the filter element in place is all that's there.

K&N filter - yup
Pilot Jet - stock
Idle Mixture - 2.5turns
Main Jet - DJ104 (Keihin 110)
Shim / or clip - 2 from top +1 shim on inner cylinders
Jet ket - DJ
elevation (if you know it) - Chicago

FactoryPro Ignition Advance
K&N Air Filter

Ivan's Jet Kit [the folloing bullets are per the kit instructions]
--- EGR Removed
--- 20, 3/8" holes in top of air box, rest of box and filter is stock
--- #105 Keihin Mains
--- Custom Needles (e-clip on #1, 1 shim below)
--- Mixture Screws out 2.5

Elevation: ~130 ft
MPG: 45+ mpg avg

I suspect with the new addition of the K&N filter I'll be re-setting the needles to #2 - #3. It does run good, but a touch leaner then I think I'd like in the mid-range. But we'll see.

Mustang

EDIT: Replaced stock air filter with a K&N filter listed above

Exhaust - Devil Silencer (Race)

K&N filter Yes
Pilot Jet Kawa #37
Main Jet Kawa #112
Shim - 1 shim of 0.5mm per needle

My gas milage went down when I put the 38's in and didn't notice any improvment. I liked the stock 35's better. the bike started easier with the 35's

Think he bought another bike and haven't heard from him in a long time. It's not good to make promises we can't keep.

Speaking of projects, how is that LED replacement documentation (and Pics) coming along?

All stock except #38 pilots. Idle mixture screws set to 1.75. Elevation around 500'

Runs great, no hesitation.

Before I went into the carbs, the bike ran like a piece of $#%@ or I should say barely ran at all. I found the back half of the airbox was not seated properly at the tabs on the bottom. Also, one of the carb floats was about 4mm off, one of the carb slide diaphragms was not seated properly in the groove at the top of the carb, and the main jets were bunged up by the previous owner's failed attempt at rejetting.

I carefully reset the float heights to stock 17mm, put in new stock main jets along with #38 pilots, and made sure that everything was installed properly. HUGE difference.
