I did several searches, but could not find anything on people that have added or changed to HID lights. With my recent crash I figured this is a good time to spend the cash and upgrade the lights. Wondering if anyone has done this and has input. The best/reputable kits I found were about $150, and included slim ballast's plus plug and play wiring. Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Rodnacious

I bought mine super cheap but they are not the best quality. Don't buy a kit specific for the Z because they usually rack up the price a bit like they are specially made for the Z, all you need is two slim H7 kits, they will all be plug and play.

I have done high and low beam with slim ballast for £35 so around $50. They were from hongkong and top quality 12000 miles later and they are still going strong and give out a awesome amount of light! Don't spend a fortune!!

Be carfeul with this mod, some HID kits don't cooperate with a reflector style housing. Not trying to rain on your parade but to get the optimum output from an HID kit you should retrofit some projector lenses.

Phillips diamond vision globes are the **** they are as bright as most hid kits and a fraction of the cost. 5000k burn.

Is the Zed a H7 fitment? I have bought the HID kit, but im struggling finding projectors, might bag myself a set of the globes.

Definitely is a H7 fitment you just have to remember to remove the adapter from the back of your original globes which change the H7 globe into the H4 loom of the bike.Don't get H4 bulbs thinking they will fit, they don't.

My HID give off a awesome amount of light. Better than the Phillips talk about above as I had them before as well. The spread of light is fine and never have anyone complaining put on the roads. HID is best by far!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm still mulling over which way to go, but the BuckwheatJ's mod is sick. I started the bike for the first time since my crash July, 27th and surprisingly both bulb still work.
