I never experienced buffeting and turbulance until I got a bike with a fairing and winshield. The KLR.
The only turbulance I get off of the ZR is from other vehicles. In which case I'll pass them, or if that is not an option, back off to the sweet spot where the turbulance does not affect me.
Yes, there is alot of wind pressure at 65-70mph on up, but it is smooth air, and I rarely ride on highways. I cant remember the last time I went 100mph. To each his own I guess.

Who said anything about riding on highways:cool: A twist of the wrist on the Z1000 or FZ1 is totally different than on the ZR7 much less the KLR. I've been tinkering with the idea of (see picture)......if I can't find a JOB.....the insurance will be cheaper and gas millage will go up.......but it's just a thought.:smokin:

The DRZ400SM is cool. I looked at a guys KLR650 before I bought mine and he had a DRZ that he made a supermotard out of. He said it was a blast to ride, but only for about 2 hours. He was about my size and he said the narrow seat was a killer even when you move around alot. His streetbike was an FZ1.

I dont doubt the FZ1 or the Z1000 has arm stretching acceleration compared to the ZR. Most of the roads I ride have 35-45 mph speed limits and alot of driveways. It is pretty crowded here in central MD. I run them at 50-60 mph. I dont really need any crashes or tickets for exceeding by over 25mph. I think that carries a large fine and a bunch of points here in MD.

Riding in the wind is part of the motorcycling experience. I just think that too many people worry too much about wind protection. Go back and look at how many people try to get "better wind protection". If I had a dime for every windshield that someone on this forum bought I could buy another bike.

No .........I was railroaded out? Don't really know who I pissed off but I sure pissed somebody off.
One thing I can think of was when the pressroom was trying to get a union in at RRD, the company started having non-union meeting with the employee's. Well they started telling us the union people we're going to come in and take some jobs so they would have their people here and that everyone did not have to belong to the union so why join ....so do what you feel.

That was all BS and I knew it since I've worked at GE, Phillip Morris and American Standard ....all union. So I spoke up and told them that first I don't care if a union comes or not but the information your handing out is false. I got the what and how do you know questions from them. I told them nobody's going to replace anyone cause we were going to be the union and we would pick our own representives and the locals would back us up. I also told them in Ky it's a closed shop ...if a union comes we're all union period and there is no choice. Next thing I know everything I caused an error on, reguardless of wether someone else was involved , was put in my record and I was the first person discharged for performance. Hell I had to fight them for my unemployment......which when we had a hearing 6 weeks later...the a$$holes did not even show when I denied everything they put in my record and I even had witnesses ready to tell all and they were even working that day....but were waiting to testify if needed.... but it ended up where I had no one to rebutt my testimony......since RRD bailed at the hearing......and get this it was a phone hearing.
Oh know now you've got me ranting and raving........$hit:yell:
I havn't had a smoke for 6 weeks..and no one wants to hire you when your 52........my stress level is off the hook.
I just want to :slap: .......:buttkick: .........:kick: .......and then:AR15firin :AR15firin :AR15firin :AR15firin :AR15firin

Guess I should take a chill pill:cool:

No worries man.... It's all good!!! :swink:

The way I see it.... Motorcycling is a very individualized thing. We all know why we do it, but it's hard to put in to words. It means something different to everyone, while at the same time being exactly the same. But in the end, if we ride our own ride. We all arrive safely at the same destination.

WOW... Now where did that come from??? :yoda:

Dude... I'm really sorry, I just didn't know. Sounds like total :BS: to me. But seeing I did my 9 years in the EXACT same industry I can see it happening. Hell they "thinned the herd" big time in pre-press when they went all digital in Saratoga. So I have seen it happen

BUT.... If you still want to print.... God forgive me for what I'm about to say.... take a look at Quad Graphics they are about as anti-union as a company can get and if you say you lost your job because of not wanting to join a union they would probably welcome you with open arms. Not to mention you have expierance.

I know they have a plant in "The Rock" GA, don't know how far it is from you, but I thoght I'd toss it out there. Take a look at the other plants and Imaging Facilities thay have around the country.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Probably not much unless you want to move to NY, I still have people on the inside here.

Actually Quebcor World is in Versailles Ky about 44 miles from here and one of the pre-press supervisors we had now runs their pre-press department...Bill Polem. I have been in contact with him but they lost some work and will not be hiring till they fill more presses.....but he said he would keep me in mind. It's only been 2 months but it is nerve racking.......cause I know companies look at age, race, health and what else they want to pick on.
BTW they are thinning out pre-press again and taking away more counter checks.......so more mistakes are going to find their way to press. Can you say reprint city..... and I wil post ever major reprint they have on the RRD yahoo financial web page.....like I did when they screwed up a Gap ad in Vanity Fair....which was a 875,000 sig reprint. All the big wigs saw it and wanted to know where/who I was getting my info from. My supervisor who canned me all of a sudden gets moved to the bindery and put on shift work as a supervisor....they say it was a lateral move but it was a slap in yo face kind of move.:headbang: I just hope I helped him out.:headbang: :headbang:
As Mark McGwire said I'm here to be positive about the future and kucf the past........:killingme :killingme :killingme
Batterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr up.
