Pity these are now 20-ish year old bikes.
Just remember, when these new fangled computer controlled bikes are no longer running because there are no longer obsolete ECM's, yours will still be running.

That may be true and then some. There's the plastics to consider.
My newest bike is a 2017 Kawi z900, supposedly a naked bike (which I would highly recommend to anyone) which has some plastic fairing pieces. They are held on the bike and held together with an assortment of screws, plastic push pins and interlocking plastic tabs. Right now the bike is tight but twenty years on I can see these mounting methods getting loose and vibrating and snapping from brittleness. I predict these modern bikes will be rolling around held together with zip-ties twenty years from now.

And since this is a suspension thread, I'd like to reiterate, my Traxxion Dynamics damper rod modification remains a great investment. Anybody thinking of improving the forks should consider these over the Race Tech.
