Hello friends,

just looking around for a heated vest. Now I saw that it needs about 100W, and was thinking how is the electrical system/generator of the Z build - how much "surplus electrical power" does it produce and what would happen if too many Watts would be sucked out of the system?

thanks

k

noone here seems to know, i've been thru the service manual and it only gives you max volts. might be time to call kawi. If you find dout let me know but i bet due to led tail light its probably not that tough.

Now theoretically the bike should be able to run all its stock lights, turnsignals, high and low, and illuminated brake while still have a %20 resreve. But i can't find any exact numbers.

ok got it, alternator puts off 24 amps at 14v - 5000 rpm
OR 336 Watts of total power

Headlight = 55w X 2/55watt(high,low)
(does this mean that high and low are the same power or that high beam uses two 55watt bulbs?)

Tail/ Brake = .5/5Watt

turn signals, fuel, ignition, guages, and computers at unknown right now

It's a long time after this thread was posted, but a few years ago I went through the service manual for my 07 Z1K for the wattage of all the electrical components. I looked at my calculations today 'cause I'm thinking of changing my driving lights.

I came up with a total load of 281 watts. Which means that we have 55 watts to play with.
