HI All,
I looked for front fork brace for the 2003 ZX7s comments in the forum and found all the threads very old/no longer relevant. My brother and I shattered the front fender getting the forks off!!! Don't know why, but every other time I have ever taken forks off, the bottom triple tree would hold the forks ...... live and learn I guess.

Hmm, my 7s doesn't have a brace.
The forks are held by the upper and lower triple tree.
The fender is held on to the forks by 4 bolts as I recall. I haven't had it off since I replaced the oil in the forks and did the PVC preload mod.

If you loosened the top triple pinch bolts and the forks slid down then the bottom triple pinch bolts must have been loose.
Am I understanding that correctly?

HI Zed,
we lossened the bottom bolts to take the forks out, (Whoops) not realizing there was no fork brace when we then attempted to remove the bottom allen head screws to take the forks apart. THAT"S when the front fender rather shattered as the forks twisted. All prior forks I've worked on in the past never twisted that much. Oh well live and learn. I've managed to piece it back together w/ fiberglass and bondo, painted it, redrilled the holes, and I hav to admit it looks ok.
