as if i had abs which isnt possible because i
dont have that model. when i have it on the

Warped rotors

It doesn't take much warp to make them pulsate. I would take them off and go to a good machinist and have them turned. Chances are thats all you need. Good luck.

warping is the only thing I can think of. they may straighten out some by the time you get the bike up on the stand to check them, since most of the time they are warped, or warped more, from heat.

My 07 pulses when stopping but only at low speed just before coming to a full stop. Maybe slightly warped rotor..?

I have 6000 miles on the bike.

Mine is the same, only notice it below 15 mph or so. Have about 3000mi.

Pulsating

Check your tires! If they're scalloped at all, you'll get the same thing.
Yeah I forgot about tires. If it is only at low speeds and does not destabilize you going fast I would not worry about it. If however it's doing it when you are trail braking or on high speed slow downs it would definitely be worth fixing. Warped rotors unless they have already been turned and are not too far out are very easlily fixed by your local brake shop.

hi.i had a similar problem,my brake pads were badly worn and i also had to clean the calipers, the pistons were sticking and the brakes were pulsing, have a look at your calipers.............you will know if your discs are warped,if they go red hot.when you get off the bike, throw water on the disc and see how hot it gets, you will know if they are boiling, don't do what i did on a zxr 75o and put my hand on them.aaarrrrgh............wasn't a good idea.ha ha

Does anyone know if aftermarket rotors are less prone to warping than the factory rotors? The reason I ask is, I believe I warped the rotors on mine last year after only 2000 miles, and I never did any hard braking.

Wow, get your rotors RED HOT, then put WATER on them... That wont make them warp at all!! :slap:

I realize about riding in the rain, but the rotors are allowed to cool slowly not immediately...

And dont forget to check the basket that suspends the rotor. My 08 has this low speed pulse, but it is due to the basket being slightly bent, causing the rotor to not be true...

if you look at a pattern of a new brake rotor you will see that it looks like it came off the mill and not the laith.correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think that motorcycle rotors can be turned at your local brakeshop.they are not cast iron, like car rotors.if anything they can only be milled.and most brake shopes only have lathes.

You are right but it's not because of the material but the lack of metal, according to my local brake guru. I guess the only option is a new rotor if they are warped.

I believe that they are crosshatched like that to improve bedding during break in with new pads

Bump to see if anyone knows if aftermarket rotors are less prone to warping vs factory. Reason I ask is, today I checked mine and left one is warped .013", and right one is warped .018". Service manual says you should have less then .006", and you can't turn them.

One more thing, I've had my bike for less then a year, do you guys think Kawasaki would warranty rotors on my bike?
