First Ride in Cali

So today I finally got to go for a ride since relocating here to Temecula from Guam. As always here it was a beautiful day for riding. I went for a cool 105 mile ride to Palomar Mountain and Lake Heneshaw(hope I spelled that right). Lots of twists up and down the mountain. Some farms with cows and horses. I turned around after passing the lake. Roads were mostly deserted except for the occasional car or truck. Passed about 15 other riders at different points of the ride. Most of them were SS with a couple of cruisers here and there. Lots of raptors flying around, and some crazy squirrels(that couldn't make up their mind which way to run). All in all a perfect ride. My first of many to come I hope.

No, I don't think so. At least not a road to travel with the 650. Thanks.

Maybe a KLR 650. Looks like a real nice area for a dual sport bike.

No, that's a "fire break".

Man you got a lot of riding to do. You're in one of the really good areas for access to the mountain roads. Take a ride to Julian one of these days....excellent apple pie!
....a fire break....like this one, notice the ash on both sides....lol those roads look so tempting for an annual all out hill climb race, for charity of course.

Are you referring to 78 east? All the way to Anza Borrego area. Is that an awesome ride? Where do you get the apple pie?
Apple pie in Julian? Just about any shop you go into. You can also hit "dudley's Bakery" at the intersection of Hwy 78 and and 79 in Santa Ysabel. Hit Jullian on a weekend and the streets will be lined with motorcycles.

You can run just about any rode and it'll be fun. 79 South to 78 and 78 East or follow 79 South through Julian and hit Sunrise Hwy and ride it south to Pine Valley. Take "old 80" through Pine Valley back to 79 and make that loop or you can cross over.........pull up your favorite map and just about any road you want to run is going to be a good day. If you want to check out the desert, you can ride 78 east all the way back to I-10. It's all what you want to ride on any given day. If you put together a ride and want some info, shoot me a pm or post it up in "rides" and there's enough of us down here to give you an idea of what to expect.

Just wondering Kawi, does that cortech bag damage your seat cowl?

Nice looking pics by the way, can't wait for the weather to start clearing up so I can share some of Tasmania with everyone!
nice color of your bike...simply black! How do you like your bike? What don't you like about your bike? How much was it OTD?
third pic (in first set) looks like east grade road.
welcome to socal.

You have to make sure everything is clean or use a soft microfiber cloth under the bag. I've read lots of posts describing scratches at friction points and under the bag because of dirt or grit. You have to be careful.
I am headed to hwy 39 from santa barbara via 210 after a stop in sierra madre.
I am going to be in sierra madre to talk to someone then as long as I am down there It looks like 39 may be a nice road , looking at google earth.
Anyone up for the ride
