:blackeye: Sad but true .
Don't get sassy with me Kawasaki. I said "please".Dear Tony,
If American buyers had bought the Z1000 worth a crap we would've kept bothering to send them over there.
Kthxbye,
Kawasaki
If they do this bike I wish they would leave off the "detuned" part...if it does in 2010, i'm sure the z1000 will get a detuned ZX10R engine..
Short of building it yourself, I think it'll always be detuned to some degree. I hate it.If they do this bike I wish they would leave off the "detuned" part...

I wouldn't count on it. Remember that in 2003 when the Z1k was launched the ZX-9R was Kawi's top-dog liter bike. And it had an impressive resume, even if it was a bit heavier than its competitors. It was the first liter bike to run 9s, and through the end it was commended for its freighttrain-like power. And Kawi didn't even detune it. Initial reviews of '03 Zs were putting down near identical peak Hp numbers to the 9r, with a little more midrange to boot. People still didn't buy it worth a crap. Heck, I never even heard of it until the '07 came out -- I had to go back in my old stacks of motorcycle magazines to read the original articles about the '03. Of course I wanted one then (and got one,) but the nail was already pretty well set into the coffin. It's unfortunate, but most Americans like to look like they're a lot faster than they are. If they could let their ego go they sure could be a lot more comfortable, and probably even have a lot more fun.it MAY even get launched in the US seeing as all the ''sports bike for life''' fanboys will read zx10r engine!
Ya know ,If you think about it ,the power a ZX10r makes is truely MASSIVE and even detuning it a little would make a tourque MONSTER with all the power you could stand ,especially if it's as light as a TEN .:nerd:Short of building it yourself, I think it'll always be detuned to some degree. I hate it.
Europe already has a naked FZ1 and Honda has their CB1000RR, both bikes I absolutely love. They'll never come to the US. I hate here. Dammit.
True story.II don't see there ever being a huge demand for naked sport bikes here.
Short of building it yourself...
Z1000 was dropped. 2008 was the lastI can see Kawasaki dropping in from the USA lineup in the few years... Just not a large market for it here, especially when are done to one color.
Z1000 was dropped. 2008 was the last![]()
Kawi still makes the Z1000, but the 2008 model year was the last one they sent to the US.I could be wrong, but I do not think that it was dropped. I believe that there is a 2009 Z1000 in europe. Look here:
http://www.kawasaki.co.uk/Z1000
There model history shows the 2008 as a white bike and the current pictures are an orange / black scheme.
