I'm no expert on modern bike electronics, but the FI light could indicate a host of faults. If you want to troubleshoot it yourself, get over to the forums at Kawasaki Versys if you haven't yet. There are a few threads on the FI light over there. Be sure to include the model year and what country's spec.
Check the service manual. Normally it spells out explicitly what the causes can be. Those 200$ may very well be reasonable if you want a quote without having any idea of what it could be. It can be a PITA, or it can be trivial. Spend some time doing your own diagnostics and then decide if it's something you can handle or not. Just don't expect people in a forum to save you those 200$ simply because reading the service manual looks complicated. Always start there.
