hope someone here can help. have a 2001 concourse 1000. was running great , but sputtered and died. took carbs apart, but kept them together as one unit. new jets and needle valves, etc. but it still wont start unless I crank the throttle all the way open. Upon closing the throttle, it sputters and dies.
Need help please.

I think your bike has CV carbs. If so, check out the diaphragms of each carb to see if there are any holes/tears. I had a similar issue with a BMW many years ago.

Also - check that your pilot jets are not clogged.

Edit: Oh, and welcome onboard.

update, removed the carbs (again) went through them (again) ,runs but very badly, took it to the dealer to get the carbs synchronized and tuned. They said it's running really rich and the only way to find out why is to take the carbs off and rebuild them (again). Here's the problem, they sold me a complete carb rebuild kit, about $100.00. and so I used the parts to rebuild all four, but still running crappy and very rich. The kit says "made in china " so the jets and valves don't always match, the dealer put back the original parts and now it runs just fine.
STAY AWAY FROM CHINA !!!!
