yes it can be cleaned and re-oiled

 

There is no way to take out the sponge element from the frame of the element is there? My Kawasaki 4 wheeler actually has the sponge removeable so that you can squeeze it dry/clean with solvents.
So do I just pour solvent thru the sponge and try to tamp it dry , then oil it?

 

clean it with a mild soap and water. Let it fully air dry and reoil. Don't dump the used oil water down the drain!
