Hi,

I am experiencing a strange problem with my ABS system. most of the time when I cold start the bike brakes abnormally.

When I brake say more than 50% the ABS goes off even when there is no slipping this happens at slow, moderate and faster speeds.

Sometimes when I turn off and turn on the bike it goes away. At low speeds the braking is ALOT worse than normal as it takes further to stop. I almost rear ended my friend.

Been like this for a week.
Anyone experience or heard of this? I tried to search rider and Kawi forums and can't find anything.

Hey Hok, long time no hear.

Are you getting a yellow ABS indicator light (upper right portion of the meter unit)? Are your tire pressure within spec? Is your battery voltage okay? Are the front and rear tire sensors clean? Are your tires deformed? Do you usually ride on rough roads?

Do you have a copy of a service manual? It contains details of the step-by-step troubleshooting of the ABS system. And self-diagnosis too.

Hi Sentra,

Yes everything else is within spec. My ABS light does not turn on when it acting up or when normal.

The strange thing is that it will go back to normal sometimes as I mentioned. IE when I restart immediately or during stops.

I just wanted to update. I finally found my problem. I added a bar riser which pinched both the brake line. Thanks!
