600 mile service.. now clutch feels different

I just got my 07 650R back from the 600 mile dealer service. Two things that I noticed immediately when I got on the bike were:

a) The brakes were very "tight". The front would grab with minimal hand pressure. Is this due to them bleeding the brakes? Will they loosen up a little after a while?

b) The clutch friction zone is way over at the end of the lever where you have to almost let out the clutch lever all the way for the clutch to engage. Before it was somewhere in the middle.

I noticed on the way home that shifting was way quicker since I didn't have to squeeze the lever as much as before to engage the clutch.

Is this normal? Is there a way for me to manually adjust where the friction zone is? Should I just leave it alone? Where should the friction zone be, at the end, middle or just rider preference?

Thanks in advance.

It's rider preference for the most part. I ride mine all the way out, so all I have to do is basically tap the lever. You want to be sure that the clutch fully disengaes with the lever all the way in and vice versa, otherwise it's up to you.
Your main adjustment is right there at the lever.
The shop pobably bled your brakes. Yeah, they loosen up, after the brake pads wear down a bit.

I noticed this exact same thing when I got mine back from the 600 mi service, it must be the adjustment. It went back to the "normal" way I was used to (engagement point more towards the handgrip, "lever pulled in") after a week or two of riding.

So I assume that over time the clutch cable will loosen up and the friction zone will inch back towards the handle bars again?

I'm just a noob. :notworthy

So am I. Believe me when I answer you with, "I guess?" :) I believe this is correct. The clutch cable will loosen with use, not sure if it's wear or just by design, but it can always be adjusted back.

Even your name is Noob. I can only hope to achieve the heights of noobiness that you have achieved! :righton:

Thanks for the replys. :glassesti

Just loosen it up at the lever. That's what the knurled wheel is for.
Not the chrome one with the numbers, the greenish/blackish one that is between your cable and lever. Adjust the bolt out to tighten, in to loosen.
Out has the "friction zone" closer to lever released, and in has it closer to the lever against the bar.
