1980 Kawasaki ltd 440

I just bought a replacement battery for my motorcycle and it ran for awhile and started nice, but now when I try to start it it might cycle once then just starts clicking like I don’t have enough power. I’ve tried tightening the bolts on the battery’s leads but it didn’t do anything. If I jump start it it will start right up though. I tried shutting it off after awhile of riding to see if it would turn back on by itself and it needed to be jumped to start again. Anyone know what the problem could be?
