Hey guys,

I'll be installing my black ZX-10R wheels this fall, and I was wondering...

Is there a black rear caliper that will swap right on to our bikes? Or, would I have to paint mine?

Any recommendations on a black rear sprocket? Are they even available? Renthal maybe?

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Muchas Gracias!!

The black rear caliper from the ZX-10 will work. Don't remember for sure which years it was, but I think it was 04-06. Dupli-Color also makes a caliper paint kit if you want to go that route.

I know Vortex makes a black aluminum sprocket for the Z, and I think Sprocketspecialists and Drive Systems do also. I haven't seen a black steel sprocket (not saying that there isn't one) so if you want steel you might have to paint it.

My black aluminum Vortex (520) is showing wear pretty fast. I'll be replacing it soon with a supersprox stealth I think (might paint the gold part black though). Of course aluminum wears out faster than steel but I've read some other reports of Vortex alloy sprockets wearing out unusually fast so you might want to do a search and see for yourself before getting one.

Here's a link for sprockets:

A rear caliper off an 06' - 07' comes in black and will bolt right up, if you want the caliper carrier bracket off the ZX10 (which is black also) you will have to bore out the axle clearance hole to take the Z1000 axle.
As far as I'm concerned I suggest going to a steel sprocket and have it powder coated, works well.
