Hi, has anyone noticed Z leaned a lot when parked on kickstand? It does not tip over but it sure looks it can in time. I have ZRX1200 and EX500, and they do not look nearly as leaned. Any info would be helpful. I was thinking maybe the tab on the frame where the stand is attached to is getting bent over time.

I always think my bike is fairly upright. Is yours bent?
My Z is the same way. While it's on the stand it can even rock back and forth slightly if I push it.

Possibly the prior owner installed shorter dog-bone links to raise the rear for sharper steering which would make the bike lean over more on the stand. I put shorter dogbones on mine which raised the rear about 1" and it does lean over more but not what I'd consider dangerous. There should be some threads on it here somewhere if you do a search. Ask AKSnowman how much his bike leans due to shorter dogbones.

Some guys have welded a piece of metal on the bottom of the kickstand to act as a "foot" so it's more upright when parked. Others have even cut the kickstand in two and welded a piece in the middle to lengthen it. Or you could lower the bike with longer dogbones and pull the fork tubes up accordingly.

Do you know how long the stock dog-bone is supposed to be? Or even how long the aftermarket shorter ones are for that matter? Would like to figure out if mine are stock or not.
Azweepay ~ Did you get your dogbones at a local shop or online? So 1" seems like its a good upgrade from the stock dogbones or is that a little to high? I was originally thinking 1/2" . . . Thanks for the info
I've noticed mine leaning a bit more than usual this year. I got the bike with 2700 miles on it and I never noticed any big lean, but now its got 18600 miles on it and seems to be getting a bit lazy in the kickstand and leaning over more than it used to. I looked under there and didn't really see anything obviously bent, so maybe I'll put it up on the rear spool stand and pull the kickstand off to see what's going on.
And here I thought I was crazy, good to know mine isn't the only one.

mine is the same as well... i was told that the bolt that attaches it to the frame has warped the hole some... no big deal unless it gets really "outta shape" if that makes sense....
Well, I wasn't imagining it, Sunday was bath day for my bikes. Here you can see my Z leaned right over, it should be at an angle more like the dirt bikes.

Almost looks like it's getting ready to take a nap (fall over)

Doesn't look that bad to me, I think it looks worse b/c your handle bars are turned in that direction. I always leave my bars straight when on the side stand.
Mine looks the same. So what's the cure for this? Changing the bolt?

So how can I fix that???
I put a 40mm lift kit in the rear of my Zed and yes the bike really did lean over so I got the bottom section of my stand extended 30mm! Now she sits perfect.
Just be cautious of suspension adjustment, lift kits etc it can throw the angle of the stand position big time.

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been on much lately. I got mine online from CycleZoo but they don't sell 'em anymore. I think the 1" lift is perfect, cause I wanted faster steering.

I just did a quick measurement of the stock dogbones I took off and they're approx. 7-1/8" from centerhole to centerhole. My aftermarket CycleZoo ones say 172mm on them, which I guess is about 6-1/2". I think with the linkage ratio it actually lifted the tail a bit more than 1", maybe 1-1/4".
Sorry just saw this post so thought i would chime in. I bought a 35mm dog bone to raise my tail up a bit. I tell you what the bike leans so far over it scares me. I carry a hockey puck around so i can put it under my kick stand when i park it. One day it was really hot out and i was working all day didnt move the bike at all and since the sun was beating down on the pavement it went soft. Needless to say my bike almost hit the ground it was leaning so far over it was crazy and again that is way i carry the hockey puck now. I read about these stories where people get their bike knocked over. I am constantly checking up on mine especially on windy days. :dunno:

Anyway here are some pictures of mine:

The stock bone is on the left it shows just how much shorter the one i have on now is.

AKSnowman ~ Where did you get those dogbones? I'm looking for some now but not sure where to find a decent deal on one . . . also how much did it raise the bike up?

Thanks for the help
I got them from Wildhair Accessories. They are about 90.00. I dont remember the exact measurements but i will get them tonight. With the bike standing straight up I will measure from the ground up to the tip of the tail. If yours is still stock you can measure the same distance and then that will tell you what the raise is.
Dang that's pretty expensive for a peice of alum . . . I found this link on here a while back. I have been looking for something cheaper but looks like the deal of the century for dogbones.
